David Nash and Kew Gardens: One Strong Message
UK artist David Nash is celebrated for his massive wood sculptures, and for good reason. Armed with a chainsaw and a blowtorch, he transforms felled and diseased trees into natural and geometric shapes. For his exhibition at Kew Gardens, he used the setting as both a natural gallery and as a source for the wood that went into the pieces. I absolutely love Nash’s sense of aesthetics, his work ethos, and what he does with dead wood. Outstanding!
