Enrico Marone cinzano has made a career of pushing boundaries and questioning how design can affect society. following a successful career as co-creative director of the critically acclaimed and award- winning ready-to-wear line, project alabama, cinzano embarked on his collection of ethical furniture in 2011. inspired by nature and its inherent balance, he sought out to fully integrate sustainability and artful design to create structural and sculptural products. his body of work blends art and function with locally sourced salvaged materials that undergo rigorous standards of construction and craftsmanship.

DESIGNER AND ENTREPRENEUR ENRICO MARONE CINZANO WAS BORN IN TURIN, ITALY IN 1963. HE EARNED A BACHELOR’S DEGREE IN BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION FROM BABSON COLLEGE IN 1983. FOLLOWING A CAREER AND FINANCE AND REAL ESTATE DEVELOPMENT, IN 2001, HE CO-FOUNDED SUSTAINABLE FASHION LABEL PROJECT ALABAMA , SERVING AS CO-CREATIVE DIRECTOR UNTIL 2007. PROJECT ALABAMA WAS CRITICALLY ACCLAIMED, GOING ON TO RECEIVE A NOMINATION FOR THE 2005 FASHION DESIGN AWARD FROM NEW YORK'S COOPER-HEWITT MUSEUM AND WAS NAMED A FINALIST FOR THE CFDA/VOGUE FASHION FUND AWARD. FOLLOWING THE SUCCESS OF PROJECT ALABAMA, MARONE CINZANO BEGAN TO DESIGN A COLLECTION OF SCULPTURAL, NATURE-INSPIRED FURNITURE IN 2012 UTILIZING LOCAL, SUSTAINABLE MATERIALS. THE EPONYMOUS ETHICAL COLLECTION IS ROOTED IN A RESPECT FOR ECOLOGY, ENDURING CRAFTSMANSHIP, AND PRINCIPLED CONSUMPTION. MARONE CINZANO COLLABORATES WITH INDEPENDENT FABRICATORS AND CRAFTSMEN IN ITALY, UNITED KINGDOM, UNITED STATES AND CHINA.
NOTABLE PROJECTS TO DATE INCLUDE THE INNOVATIVE EMC SERIES (2012-13), A FURNITURE AND LIGHTING COLLECTION COMPOSED OF REPURPOSED
AND SALVAGED MATERIALS, INCLUDING PINUS CEMBRA PINE FROM RECLAIMED 18TH-CENTURY CHALETS IN PIEDMONT, UP-CYCLED METALWORK FROM TURIN, AND NON-TOXIC ADHESIVES. THE WORKS INTEGRATE TRADITIONAL CONSTRUCTION AND CRAFTSMANSHIP, AND PROGRESSIVE TECHNOLOGY TO HEIGHTEN PRODUCT PERFORMANCE AND DESIGN. IN SPRING 2015, MARONE CINZANO’S DESIGNS WERE INCLUDED IN THE ANNUAL MILAN DESIGN WEEK AT THE MUSEO BAGATTI VALSECCHI EXHIBITION AND AT SPAZIO ROSSANA ORLANDI. HIS WORK IS ALSO EXHIBITED AT PEARL LAM GALLERY IN SHANGHAI.
