Australian design collective DesignByThem brings to market some really interesting products, but this one by Stefan Lie, aptly called the Ribs Bench, takes the cake. Consisting of dozens of steam-bent hardwood ribs and an aluminium “backbone,” the bench can be flexed into a variety of different shapes to suit one’s mood or space. Featured in the Sydney Opera House, the bench is elegant and clever, not to mention well built.
